A bake off was held at a St Albans Care Home in aid of Nutrition and Hydration week.
Quantum Care held the finals of it's company-wide bake off at Vesta Lodge in Watling View - one of the company's care homes in St Albans, last week.
Nutrition and Hydration week is an initiative aimed to raise awareness of the importance of nutrition and hydration as an essential element of care.
Chef managers from Quantum Care Homes across Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties took part in the bake off, which was judged by Paul Wright, a business development manager at Unilever.
Maria Cervi, chef manager of Trefoil House in Luton won the bake off, closely followed by Willow Court in Harpenden and the event’s host, Vesta Lodge.
Donna Steeden, Quantum Care’s Support Services Manager said "We are delighted to support Nutrition and Hydration Week, and are so impressed with the cake competition entries from our chef managers for this fantastic event.
"Providing our residents with nutritious, well presented and tasty food is a vital and an integral part of the quality care we provide and we are pleased to be able to have this opportunity to show our commitment to improving nutrition in care."
