A primary school in St Albans has been given the green light to expand.
Garden Fields JMI School in Townsend Drive will expand from two forms of entry to three forms of entry, after Hertfordshire County Council approved plans.
Permission was granted by the council’s development control committee to build three new classrooms, a break-out space, toilets and additional staff parking.
Andrew Simmons, deputy director for education, said: "Hertfordshire County Council is committed to ensuring that young people get a good start in life at one of our many excellent schools.
"Our primary school expansions programme continues to ensure that we meet the growing demand for places for children starting school."
