Baby George, an eight month old supermodel?

BIG brown eyes and a cheeky grin have won St Albans baby George Roddam a place in the finals of a national modelling competition.

Eight-month-old George, who lives with his mum Ngalula and dad David in Eaton Road, St Albans, has made the final 12 in the Alba Model website's Babyface Supermodels competition.

The results will be announced this week, but George's parents will have to wait a fortnight to find out whether he has won after jetting off this week to Ngalula's native Italy for George's baptism.

Speaking on Monday, his mother said: "He loves being at the centre of the attention and having his photographs taken, that's why we decided to give it a go with baby modelling.

"It's incredible how fast he's growing - it seems like yesterday we took him home from Watford Hospital and now there he is on the floor,in a crawling position trying to figure out how to get to the toy on the other side of the room. Regardless of what happens, we couldn't be more proud of our little boy."

With George in the final, the family is in with the chance of winning a holiday at Butlins and a professional portfolio of photos to help George with his modelling. All proceeds from the competition will go to the Round Table Children's Wish Foundation, which organises special experiences for children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses.
