Caroline Jones has raised more than £8,000 in three months with a unique fundraising challenge to wear a new charity shop outfit every day this year in honour of her late mother who died of breast cancer.

The 46-year-old from Harpenden is raising money in memory of her mother Mary Benson, who passed away in October.

Caroline will wear only "pre-loved" clothes for the whole of 2015 - with a new outfit every day from the Cancer Research UK shop in Harpenden's High Street where her mother volunteered for 13 years.

Below is Caroline's outfit of the week:

Sometimes it's just about keeping things parred back and simple, which is what I have tried to do with this outfit, Day 112, my Outfit Of The Week.

Denim comes in all guises from darkest indigo to brilliant white, from industrial toughness to softest brushed cotton, so if you are a daily jeans wearer have a think about denim skirts as real alternative.

This A-line stone-washed denim skirt works for me because it sits on my waist, skims my hips and the eye is drawn to the front fastening poppers, which, depending on my bravery, allows me to flash a little bit of knee.

St Albans & Harpenden Review:

I can wear a stone-washed denim skirt in a way I couldn't possibly get away with if these were jeans, somethings are best left to the under 25 year olds.

A white top accessorised with a few favourite brooches was all that I needed to add.

Note: the top may look simple but it has three things going for it; a wide waistband, great for accentuating the waist; drop sleeves, much more flattering for the upper arm area that most of us panic about and a great sitting neckline.

My bronze Kenneth Cole beaded sandals, a quick paint of my toenails and a lick of my trusty 'Siren' No7 lipstick was all I needed to enjoy this early spring day.

Outfit: Zara top, stone washed denim skirt (no label), Kenneth Cole sandals, sunglasses, wooden bangle, Stand Up To Cancer watch, DvF brooch, face brooch all Cancer Research UK finds.

'Siren' No7 lips and knickers model's own.
