Two men who were arrested for theft from a motor vehicle have been released on police bail.
Police officers were called to the Broad Colney Lakes Nature Reserve car park in Shenley Lane, London Colney, on Sunday at 9.45pm after two men were reported to be acting suspiciously.
They were seen walking into the nearby woods prior to the police arriving.
Two officers and an officer from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire dog Unit with police dog Tai, attended the scene.
Tai led the police through the woods and was able to track the two men, who were both detained.
The men, aged 24 and 47 and from St Albans, were arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and going equipped. Both have been released on police bail until June 21.
Sergeant Vicky Stoughton from the BCH Dog Unit said: "Our dogs’ ability to use their powerful noses is one of the best tools we have and we are always pleased to be able to assist other policing teams."
