A student from Sandringham School has won first place in the post 16 category of the National Schools Photography Awards 2015.

Year 12 AS photography student Charlotte Pearce was awarded the prize for her image ‘Visual Thinking’, which reflects the set theme ‘Pride in my School’.

Her work was judged by Ian Savage, learning and development manager for Jessops, Tony Hardacre, The Times educational supplement photographer, John Roberton, photographer for The Telegraph and The Guardian, and William Thallon, headteacher at Wrenn School.

Ian Savage said: "As a professional photographer, this should be one for the portfolio.

"This is an extremely creative shot, with fantastic Lighting."

The competition, which was launched by FSE Design, in partnership with Jessops and Manfrotto, had three levels of entry - Primary, Secondary and Post 16, each with different themes, and schools all over the UK were invited to take part.

The categories were shortlisted to the top 25 from hundreds of entries, before being taken to a panel at The Kettering Park Hotel in Northamptonshire for the final round of judging on April 23.

On Tuesday, May 12, Lauren Wickham and Myles Reid Smith from FSE Design visited Sandringham School to present Charlotte with her prizes - a Canon camera, a Level 1 photography course with Jessops Academy, an accessories starter kit, Manfrotto tripod, a photography day for the school with work experience and a display of her winning image.
