Police enquiries into the whereabouts of missing 83-year-old James Lomax, from Manor Road Wheathampstead, are still on-going.

Yesterday, approximately 60 members of the public joined police in the search for Mr Lomax which covered a wide area around Wheathampstead and where he was last seen.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said they would like to thank everyone who came along to assist.

Mr Lomax has still not yet been located. Enquiries are continuing today and will involve a specialist search team and therefore the assistance of search volunteers will not be necessary.

However, police would ask the public to continue to keep an eye out for Mr Lomax and to continue to check gardens and sheds.

Mr Lomax is believed to be wearing a light brown anorak, dark blue trousers, opened-toe sandals and brown socks. He may also be wearing a dark flat cap.

He is likely to be confused and disorientated.

Anyone who sees James, or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact police via the non-emergency number 101.
