Tuesday, March 10

Anderson Martin Andrew, 43, of Wells Close, St Albans. On February 15, 2015, used a vehicle without insurance. Also, on same date, drove while disqualified; wilfully obstructed a police officer in the execution of his duty. Also, on March 6, 2015, failed to surrender to custody. Committed to prison for 22 weeks. Costs: £80.

Benjamin Joshua Brown, 25, of Brecken Close, St Albans. On February 22, 2015, drove in House Lane, St Albans, after consuming so much alcohol the proportion in breath was 62 microgrammes in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35. Also, on same date, drove without a valid licence; used a vehicle without insurance. Fine, costs: £570. Banned from driving for 17 months, to be reduced by 17 weeks if approved course undertaken.

Dean Paul Jones, 26, of Ladies Grove, St Albans. James David Boothby, 24, of Humbers Hoe, Markyate. On January 21, 2015, was in possession of a small amount of cannabis, a class B drug. Also, on same date, used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour with intent to cause, and thereby causing, a person harassment, alarm or distress. Bernard Anthony Doherty, 29, of How Wood, Park Street. On January 20, 2015, stole two bottles of vodka from the Co-op, St Albans. Fine, compensation, costs: £206.

Audrey Gordon, 84, of London Road, St Albans. On December 19, 2014, was in charge of a dog, namely a black Russian terrier named Boris, which was dangerously out of control in London Road and while so out of control, injured a person. Discharged conditionally for six months. Unless the dog is kept under proper control by being muzzled when outside and in a public place, including front garden area, it must be destroyed. Compensation, costs: £285.

Charlene Hardey, 27, of Mortimer Crescent, Kings Park, St Albans. On September 17, 2014, used a colour television receiver without a licence at above address. Fine, costs: £340. Proved in absence.
