The following cases were heard before magistrates between April 6 and April 12. 

Tuesday, April 7

Rizwan Hassan Afzal, 19, of Roland Street, St Albans. On February 1, 2015, drove in Willow Way, Hatfield, after consuming so much alcohol the proportion in blood was 97 milligrammes in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. Fine, costs: £215. Banned from driving for 13 months, to be reduced by 13 weeks if approved course undertaken.

Saleh Ahmed Choudhury, 48, of Queens Court, Hatfield Road, St Albans. On March 8, 2015, sent a telephone voicemail which conveyed a message which was indecent or grossly offensive for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient. Fine, costs: £250.

Carrie Ann Rowe, 27, of Selby Avenue, St Albans. On March 17, 2015, was in possession of a small, unknown weight of cannabis, a class B drug. Also, on same date, stole six DVDs and various food items from Asda, Hatfield. Fine, costs: £170.

Anna-Silvia Buhler Dooley, 45, of Cunningham Hill Road, St Albans. On September 22, 2014, drove in Lower Luton Road, Harpenden, at 39mph, the legal limit being 30mph. Fine, costs: £100. Three penalty points.

Brian Mongan, 26, of Caravan Site, Watling Street, Park Street. On October 29, 2014, used a vehicle without insurance. Fine, costs: £215. Six penalty points.

Justin Ridley, 36, of High Street, Sandridge. On September 22, 2014, drove in Grace Way, Stevenage, at 43mph, the legal limit being 30mph. Fine, costs: £100. Four penalty points.

Craig Robinson, 32, of Rowlatt Drive, St Albans. Appeared before court to make statutory declaration following conviction for speeding and failing to give information. On September 11, 2014, drove a vehicle in Maylands Avenue, Hemel Hempstead, at a speed in excess of the 30mph legal limit. Fine, costs: £816. Six penalty points.

Erion Sinanaj, 31, of The Ridgeway, St Albans. On October 2, 2014, used a vehicle without insurance. Also, on same date, drove without a valid licence. Fine, costs: £585. Eight penalty points.

Shuez Kadir, 30, of Margaret Avenue, St Albans. On October 1, 2014, drove in Broadwater Road, Welwyn Garden City, at 39mph, the legal limit being 30mph. Fine, costs: £305. Three penalty points.

Wednesday, April 8 Jacqueline Anne Bushby, 43, of Artisan Crescent, St Albans. On October 7, 2014, used a vehicle without insurance. Fine, costs: £215. Eight penalty points.

Tomasz Menko, 37, of Hill Close, Harpenden. On September 27, 2014, drove in Broadwater Road, Welwyn Garden City, at 40mph, the legal limit being 30mph. Fine, costs: £305. Three penalty points.

Thursday, April 9

Harry Dale Durham, 20, of Norris Close, London Colney. On March 16, 2015, sent text messages and attended a specific address contrary to terms of non-molestation order made on March 11, 2015. Also, on March 21, 2015, sent six Whatsapp messages contrary to terms of non-molestation order made on March 11, 2015. Fine, costs: £470.

Ann Riley, 41, of Oysterfields, St Albans. On March 4, 2015, was found drunk in a public place while having charge of a child under the age of seven. Discharged conditionally for 12 months. Costs: £100.

Nicholas James Robin Farmer, 22, of Tudor Road, St Albans. Application to reopen case following conviction of offence of harasment. Case reopened. Between December 1, 2012, and October 13, 2014, pursued a course of conduct which amounted to harassment of a person. Committed to prison for six weeks suspended for 24 months. Order includes programme and supervision requirements. Restraining order made. Costs: £85.

Matthew Alan Browne, 25, of Milford Hill, Harpenden. Appeared before court to make statutory declaration following conviction. On August 28, 2014, drove on a local traffic order affected section of the A1 southbound at 71mph, the legal limit being 60mph. Fine, costs: £100. Three penalty points.

Nathan Anthony Lowe, 44, of Russell Court, Blackboy Wood, Bricket Wood. Appeared before court to make statutory declaration following conviction. On June 15, 2014, drove on a local traffic order affected section of the A22 at High Street, Nutley, at a speed in excess of the 30mph legal limit. Fine, costs: £240. Four penalty points.

Timothy Peter van Dijk, 58, of Wheathampstead Road, Harpenden. On October 6, 2014, drove in Lower Luton Road, Harpenden, at 38mph, the legal limit being 30mph. Fine, costs: £305. Three penalty points.
