Woman in her 90s taken to hospital after Wheathampstead flat fire
A woman in her 90s was taken to hospital after a flat fire in Wheathampstead.
The blaze broke out in the flat in High Street shortly after 8am yesterday.
Fire crews from Wheathampstead, Hatfield and Harpenden were mobilised in 48 seconds.
The woman was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
She was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation at the scene and taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
