Several conifer trees were destroyed in a garden fire in Radlett this morning.
Herts Fire and Rescue were called to Goodyers Avenue at 9.40am after neighbours reported a fire at the back of a garden.
When they arrived they found the back fence and shed well alight as well as a row of conifer trees.
Watch commander from Garston Fire station, Chris Merritt said they used a hose real to extinguish the fire, but they also had to cut quite a lot of the branches as the fire had got deep into the trunks and into compost heap nearby.
It took the fire service an hour to take out the fire.
The shed and the trees have been completely destroyed and there is significant damage done to approximately six metres of fence.
