Hundreds of people turned out to mark the national Armed Forces Day event held in Harpenden on Saturday.
A parade and service at the War Memorial was followed with activities and displays including the Honourable Artillery Company band and the Harpenden Pipe Band.
Councillor Brian Ellis, Mayor of Harpenden said: "It was a fantastic opportunity for residents of Harpenden to acknowledge the sacrifices paid by our Armed Forces past and present and it was lovely to see the event so well supported with so many people attending."
Armed Forces Day (formerly Veterans' Day) is an annual event celebrated in late June to commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces.
