Bagpipes will soon be ringing out across Harpenden as the town's annual Harpenden Highland Gathering returns.
The town's traditional Highland fling will bring thousands to Rothamsted Park today for a rich variety of Scottish-themed entertainment.
Featuring spectacular "heavy events" such as tossing the caber and putting the stone, as well as dancing and piping competitions, the festival, which last year raised more than £13,000 for charity, will support The Bone Cancer Research Trust, Luton & Dunstable Hospital Dementia Care Project.
Five pipe and drum bands will entertain the crowds, while the Scottish Piping Society of London members competition takes place throughout the day.
New for 2015 is a unique horse display 'Mane Attraction', which combines an artistic creation of equestrian performance and horsemanship.
Away from the highland theme, more music will be provided by jazz and brass bands and visitors can enjoy a large classic car and motorbike display.
The Harpenden Highland Gathering will take place on Saturday, July 12 between 10am to 5pm.
