A taste of Latin culture will be coming to St Albans this weekend at a charity Salsa BBQ in Greenwood Park.

The event, which is being run by Salsa Mish, will be taking place this Sunday to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

During the event, people will be able to dance to the sound of Palenke, one of the UK’s leading Latin bands and some of the country’s top Latin DJs, as well as learn how to dance Salsa, Bachata or Kizomba at specila workshops led by expert teachers.

Mish Yanni, who runs Salsa Mish at the Greenwood Park Community Centre, said: “Macmillan Cancer Support is such a great charity. So many of our members have had their lives touched by cancer and received help from Macmillan nurses.

“This Charity BBQ and Salsa party is our way of saying thank you but at the same time share our enjoyment of dance and music.

“We welcome everyone who wants to experience some Latin ‘Fuego’, have fun and at the same time raise money for a good cause.”

The charity Salsa BBQ will run from 1pm to 6pm. Entry is free but the event will be taking a minimum donation.

There is also a Just Giving page set up for anyone who wishes to make a donation www.justigiving.com/salsamishcharitybbq2015.
