A kitten with a nose for adventure got itself stuck on a garage roof in Radlett and had to be rescued by a engineer.

Nine-week-old Curious George, who had only been brought home the previous day, jumped through a hole in the sick into a cavity wall.

It was not until the owners of the kitten heard meowing in that garage that they realised George had climbed up to the roof.

The owner, who asked to remain anonymous, called the cat protection charity for advice - they said to call a drainage engineer.

Tony Odell, from AMG Souther Service Ltd - a Dyno franchise, attended the Radlett home to rescue the kitten.

Mr Odell, who had previously saved another cat that was stuck under floorboards, said he assessed the situation and established that the kitten was not hurt, but had wedged itself into a corner of the garage roof.

Mr Odell started by dangling a toy to try and tempt the kitten to leave the corner, but this proved to be unsuccessful.

The engineer then used a broom to hit the roof of the garage in a bid to get George to move and after a few tries, it worked. And after fours Mr Odell was then able to pick him up and reunite him with his owner.

Mr Odell said: "When I arrived at the house I got to work straight away, planning how to locate George. It did take a few hours to rescue him, but the customer was very relieved."
