Seventy eight drivers had their vehicles fitted with free tamper-proof number plate screws last weekend.
Three Plate Safe events were held in St Albans, Harpenden and London Colney on Sunday, September 6.
The event was organised by St Albans Community Safety Partnership, which runs a number of crime prevention and community safety events across the district.
During the course of the events an additional 29 packs of screws were given to people to fit themselves and 30 people signed up to join Neighbourhood Watch.
Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant Tom Fisher said: “There are many measures you can put in place to help prevent you from becoming a victim of crime.
"I would urge the public to consider the crime prevention tips below and if anyone would like to get hold of the screws to fit them themselves, please contact your local Safer Neighbourhood Team by ringing the police non-emergency number 101.”
