A 21-year old man has been charged in connection with nine motor vehicle offences in St Albans.

Denis Tsimbalist, from Stockwood Crescent in Luton, was arrested on October 8 at his home address by police officers from St Albans Local Crime Unit following proactive investigations into the crimes.

He was charged with five thefts from motor vehicle offences, three offences of interfering with a motor vehicle and one attempted theft from a motor vehicle.

The nine crimes happened between September and October and included three offences in Barnfield Road, two in Homewood Road, two in Gurney Court Road, one in Clarence Road and one in Broom Leys.

Some of the cars had items stolen from them including loose change and a lap top computer.

Tsimbalist was remanded in custody and he appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on October 9. He was released on bail with conditions and has to wear an electronic tag.

He is due to return to court on October 14.
