BUSINESS owners can learn how to protect themselves from cyber crime at a special meeting later this month.

Advice and support will be on offer at Wychavon District Council's Business Rates Breakfast Meeting in Pershore on Wednesday, January 27.

Jack Hegarty, managing director of Wychavon District Council, said: "We're committed to growing Wychavon's economy by doing all we can to help businesses start up, relocate and expand.

"This meeting will not only help us to discuss some of the key issues facing businesses but to get valuable feedback from them as well, about what more we could be doing."

The meeting is open to all businesses across the district and will include a presentation on how to prevent cyber crime from Stephen Butterworth from Worcestershire County Council.

Simon Thompson, Wychavon’s recently appointed business and rural crime co-ordinator, will also speak about the programme to reduce business crime across South Worcestershire.

In addition there will be an update on Business Rates for 2016/17, the council’s budget for the next financial year and investment in Wychavon.

The meeting will run from 7.30am to 9.30am at Wychavon's Civic Centre in Pershore.
