A new maths and science block has opened at Sandringham School to meet the needs of additional students who joined last September.
The new £3million build includes 12 extra-sized classrooms, a computing laboratory and three super-sized science laboratories.
In addition, there are offices, a seminar room, a network support room a science preparation room and toilets.
It also has two large open spaces, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor.
The school’s Published Admission Number has risen to 210 to meet the need identified by Hertfordshire County Council.
Medical doctor Dr Kevin Fong, who most recently gave the Royal Institute Christmas lectures on BBC, was welcomed to the school to officially opened the new building on Monday, January 11.
Headteacher Alan Gray said: “The new maths and science building provides a massive state of the art learning environment for young people at Sandringham and is a significant addition to the school campus.
“We were delighted that Dr Kevin Fong could find time to be with us and formally open this special building.
“He was really impressed with the facilities and felt these would help inspire young people into STEM subjects.
“This is a landmark building that provides World Class facilities for young people.”
