A Harpenden woman has been convicted of benefit fraud after falsely claiming more than £13,000.
Jennifer Williams, 45, of Masefield Road, was sentenced to a 12 month community order and ordered to pay £85 towards the cost of prosecution.
Williams pleaded guilty to failing to notify changes in er circumstances to the Department forWork and Pensions and St Albans District Council.
She failed to report savings of £41,000 which meant she wrongly received £13,223 housing benefit and £50.90 council tax benefit.
The district council will recover the overpayment.
