As the 400th anniversary of the Bard's death approaches St Albans is getting ready to greet Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo, Ophelia, Caliban at various locations around the city.

Directed by Alison Wright, OVO and the resident theatre group at The Maltings Theatre will be performing some of Shakespeare's most famous scenes and speeches as part of the ongoing Shakespeare Festival.

Highlights include: the amazing oratory of Henry V and Hamlet, the bawdy humour of Twelfth Night, the passion of Romeo and Juliet and more.

Visitors can follow the cast on route and watch tragedies followed by comedies and romance.

10.50am and 2.20pm - The Market Place

11.30am and 3pm - South side of The Abbey

12.10pm and 3.40pm - Ye Olde Fishing Cocks

12.40pm and 4.10pm - The White Hart Hotel
