A man discovered lying in the street woke up to find a lump to the back of his head, a black eye and his phone and cash missing.

The man, aged in his 40s, was walking along Chester Road in Watford at around 2am on April 30.

The next thing he remembers is being helped off the floor by an unknown man.

His Sony Experia mobile phone and £60 cash were missing alongside his injuries.

Detective investigating are now trying to trace a member of the public who came to the man’s aid.

Detective Constable Julie Vint said: “I am keen to trace the person who came to the man’s assistance that night. If this was you, please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear form anyone else who may have information about what happened.”
