Eight portable toilets have been stolen during a six day spate of thefts.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the toilets were stolen between Wednesday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 11.

The thefts have been recorded in Harefield Place, St Albans, between 4.30pm and 6.15pm on May 17, Sandpit Lane, St Albans, between 8am on May 14 and 8am on May 16, Woodstock Road South, St Albans, between 5.30pm and 5.40pm on May 14 and Batchwood Drive, St Albans, between noon on May 13 and 6am on May 16.

Three portable toilets have also been stolen in Harpenden, in Browning Road, between 5pm on Friday, May 13 and 7am on Monday, May 16, in Cowper Road, between 7pm on May 11 and 7.15am on May 12 and in Elliswick Road between 10.35pm and 10.40pm on May 11.

Detectives believe they were all loaded into a white van.

The spate of thefts are also being linked to a further theft which happened in Batchwood Lane, Northwood, between May 13 and 16.

Detective Inspector Pete Frost said: β€œIt has been reported that the toilets were loaded into a white van during some of these incidents.

"I would ask that anyone who remembers seeing a suspicious van in any of these locations around the times stated gets in touch.

β€œI would also like to hear from anyone with any other information about the thefts.”
