Heavy rain brought roads and trains to a standstill.
Torrential downpours swept across the south and east of England yesterday evening, causing flash floods on roads.
A landslide between between St Albans and London shortly before 7pm blocked trains travelling between Radlett and St Pancras.

Many trains were cancelled as rail lines were flooded between St Albans and London.
@TLRailUK Hello. Sorry to bother you but why are ALL your trains cancelled or delayed from St Albans? Surely you've seen rain before?

Flooding was reported in Shenley Lane, with severe flash flooding in London Colney.
Radlett resident Billy Jeffs wrote on Facebook: "No trains at St Albans. Station covered in police. Landslides, floods and lightning strikes."
The glowering skies and downpours coincided with the nation's decision over whether to leave the EU.
Some voters were determined not to let this stop them.

Maybe it was an omen.
Rain that can only be described as biblical currently falling on St Albans.
