There are delays on the M1 as one lane is closed due to resurfacing work and a fuel spill yesterday near J8, Hemel Hempstead.
There is queuing traffic for 12 miles and congestion up to J11, Luton and Dunstable.
The lane is expected to reopen at 8am.
