The annual scarecrow festival made a return at the weekend despite the wet and windy weather.
Flamstead became home to up to 114 scarecrows created by villagers - with more than 5,000 visiting over three days.
Paul McMahon, chairman of the Scarecrow Festival Committee, said: “It was a very good weekend.
“We had 114 scarecrows this year which is four down from the year before.”
Each scarecrow is judged by the visitors and at the end of the weekend there is an overall winner announced.
This year there were some scarecrows based around contemporary themes including the Olympics, The BFG and classic literary figures including Peter Rabbit.
The money raised during the festival will be donated to two charities who help organise the annual festival.
Money will be donated to the Friends of St Leonard’s Church who help with the upkeep of the church.
As well some of the money will be given to the Hertfordshire Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre as they provide a lot of help and support for the festival, Mr McMahon said.
