A pub is urging diners to eat more pizza and pasta to help people in Italy affected by Wednesday’s earthquake.
The Beech House, St Peter’s Street, are asking guests to order Italian food to help the relief efforts in Amatrice.
They will be donating all proceeds from the sale of pasta and pizza to the Italian Red Cross, from August 30 to September 1.
The chief executive of Oakman Inns & Restaurants, the company that owns the pub, said: ““At Oakman Inns, we have strong connections with Italy.
“Much of our menu is inspired by Italy and their traditional cuisine - and we therefore have a huge number of colleagues who are Italian.
“We have decided that we want to do something really meaningful to help the victims of this disaster.
“If we sold our normal amount of dishes we would be sending a cheque for around £20,000 to Italy. I am hoping we will have to write a much bigger cheque.”
