A PHOTOGRAPHER from St Albans has urged others to follow in her footsteps and volunteer with a baby loss charity.

Claire Connold recently joined up with Remember My Baby (RMB), a UK wide charity that offers parents who have lost a baby a gift of remembrance, in the form of pictures of their child for free.

Mrs Connold believes photographers throughout Hertfordshire should consider becoming a volunteer themselves because of how "rewarding" the work is.

“I signed up with the charity because my friend suffered a loss and felt I wanted to give something back”, she said.

“It’s so rewarding. You are giving someone lasting memories.

"When you speak to those who have suffered from baby loss, they are literally clinging onto every memory they have, and these photographs provide these memories.”

RMB currently work with two families a day across the UK, and have worked closely with Barnet Hospital to provide their services.

The charity are striving to work with Watford General and the Lister Hospital as well.

Anyone who wants to take photographs for the charity must have a professional background in the industry.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with RMB or would like to donate and support the cause, you can visit www.remembermybaby.org.uk or you can contact Mrs Connold on 07931 335462.
