Ahm House in Harpenden was designed in 1962 by Jorn Utzon, five years after his winning proposal for the new architecture in Australia.

Historic England, who have described this as “a distinguished and beautifully detailed Modern house” and granted it listed status (Grade II) in 1998, with architectural critic Hugh Pearman hailing it “the best Modern house in the world”.
