A woman became trapped in her car after crashing into a building.
Two fire crews from St Albans and Wheathampstead were called at around 5.41pm tonight to reports of a car crash in Southdown Road, Harpenden.
Upon arrival the crews found a woman trapped by her injuries inside her car after she crashed with a building.
A third fire engine from St Albans was called to assist to release the woman from the car.
Police and ambulance were also called. The woman was released and was treated by the paramedics.
Lorraine Muzaka, the daughter of the woman trapped, said: "I just want to thank all those involved in rescuing my mother.
"She is fine and home now. She is so thankful for the way they rescued her."
