St Albans is a city renowned for its history and culture – and now, its monogamous men.
An online dating website has crowned the men of St Albans the most loyal in the country.
After analysing the data of 25,000 users, EliteSingles found that men who lived in the city were the most likely to deem monogamy essential to a relationship.
Psychologist Salima Marine said: “Being cheated on is horrible and unsurprisingly it does make many people question the fidelity of men in general. But they shouldn’t allow it to let them lose faith in love.
While many women and men have been unlucky enough to have been cheated on by someone they trusted, there are actually still plenty of men out there who do value monogamy and want to build a lasting and loving relationship. This study demonstrates this.”
The survey found the towns with the most monogamous men were:

2. Stockport
3. Luton
4. Dundee
5. Bromley
6. York
7. Taunton
8. Chesterfield
9. Cheltenham
10. Woking
