A football player was rushed to hospital after suffering chest and neck injuries.
Matt Sutton, who plays for Harpenden Town FC, was taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital after suffering neck and chest injuries.
Danny Plumb, the first team manager, said Sutton challenged the goalkeeper and broke a couple of ribs.
Mr Plumb said it is not as serious as they first initially thought and Sutton will make a full recovery but will be unable to play until he does so.
