More than 100 people are expected to turn up to a protest after months of unreliable train services.

The Train Suffererjettes campaign group will be outside platform 4 of St Albans City train station on Monday at 7.30am for the protest and more than 100 people have agreed to turn up.

The group was set up for mother's who were struggling with child care due to the delays caused by the train service.

Laura-Jane Silverman, a commuter-mum, said: "As mums, we work pretty damn hard to get our career on track after having our family. Many of us juggle wrap-around childcare arrangements and tailored work patterns in order to establish a routine that works for the whole family.

"The current substandard train service provided by Govia Thameslink Railway (and many other rail companies across the country) threatens this hard-won routine, adds undue stress to an already often frenetic lifestyle, and leaves many women in doubt as to whether they should continue working altogether.

"We have now reached out to dads and who will also be at the protest on Monday."

Representatives from the Green Party, Liberal Democrats and Labour will be at the protest with Govia Thameslink there answering any questions.
