Schoolchildren were joined by the mayor at the official opening of a new playground.
Harpenden’s mayor Nicola Linacre joined pupils from Lea Primary School at Westfield Recreation Ground, on January 12.
The playground has had swings, a cableway, two climbing frames, a seesaw and a roundabout added, along with picnic tables and a fitness trail including monkey bars, a springboard and press-up bars.
Mayor Linacre said: “I hope the local residents will enjoy their new facilities here at Westfield Recreation Ground.
“There is something for everyone, from the very youngest to adults who want to get fit using the fitness trail equipment installed around the Recreation Ground.
“I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who contributed their ideas and efforts to ensure a successful project here in Westfield.”
