A celebration of all that is good to eat and drink from across the Eastern Region of the UK is taking place this weekend.

The East of England Food Festival is now in its eighth year but has a new home at the Hertfordshire County Showground.

You can browse, sample and buy from a array of stallholders exhibiting everything from condiments, artisan cheeses, home cured and fresh meat, dairy products, confectionary, bakery, wine, beer and other drinks, together with cookware and other related products.

There will also be a set of cooking demonstrations, among others, compered by Masterchef Contestant Ondine Hartgroves.

There will be cookery supremo Sophie Grigson, Anita Chipalkatty, Celebrity Chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and Masterchef Finalist Saira Hamilton.

Organiser of the show, Emma Owen, director of Oakleigh Fairs, says: “We are delighted to be bringing the East of England Food Festival to the County Showground it is such a fantastic setting – with visitor numbers of around 7,500 over the years it is arguably one of the largest Food Festivals in the region.

“From the thirty or so shows we run over the year, one thing that has become increasingly apparent is that people are fascinated by food; so many of us are concerned about food miles and traceability these days and more and more of us are turning to ‘Real Food’.  We hope this event is a showcase for anything foodie and is your chance to meet-the-maker.

“With our chefs and demonstrators on hand throughout the weekend offering demos and tips from the top, this show really can't be missed - whether you are already a seasoned cook - or just want to learn more, as well as enjoying browsing and sampling from our numerous exhibitors. You can also explore our farm animal display and understand just how field to fork really works.”
