Memory-jogging butlers will run the St Albans Half Marathon this weekend to aid the search for a missing lottery winner.

A lucky winner of £1million is yet to be found after they bought their EuroMillions ticket in St Albans for the draw on December 27, with the deadline to claim just 20 days away.

The National Lottery's special runners, dressed as butlers, will hopefully jog the memory of the jackpot winner as they jog the 13.1 miles along with 4,000 other runners.

Race director Katie Foweraker said: “We’ve had Roman Centurions and fairies running in the St Albans Half Marathon before but I think in its 36 year history this is the first time we have had memory-jogging butlers!

"We are really hoping that between us, and with the aid of The National Lottery memory- jogging butlers, we can help find St Albans missing millionaire ticket-holder.”

The missing ticket includes the code TKKW 52614 and the winner has until June 25 to claim their prize.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “The ticket was bought for the EuroMillions draw on 27 December, just a couple of days after we’d celebrated Christmas and when we were all wrapped up warm against the winter chill, so try checking in the pockets of winter clothes, or in wallets, bags and even down the back of the sofa – someone could quite literally be sitting on a fortune and the clock is ticking!

"We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their winnings.”

Call the National Lottery Line on 0844 338 755 if you have the winning ticket.
