Watford is set for the hottest June day in 40 years.

Many forecasters are predicting today's tempretures will reach 34C - meaning we'll have had glorious weather for five days in a row.

The last time we had such a June heatwave was in 1995 - the year Watford Colosseum reopened.

The heat in the South and South East will be approximately 10C above the average for this time of year.

"The sun is as powerful as it can be," added Met Office forecaster Charles Powell.

"I would say we are in the midst of a heatwave."

It's important for everyone to stay hydrated with water during hot weather, experts say The Met Office has issued an amber warning until Thursday.

It has advised people to stay out of the sun and to show awareness for people who may be vulnerable people, such as the elderly.
