Puppets and pilgrims will walk through the city centre to commemorate an important saint.
The Alban Pilgrimage takes place from 11am on Saturday, where processors will meet at St Peter's Church, St Peter's Street, to walk alongside 10-foot puppets to the cathedral.
Rt Revd Rachel Treweek, the first female bishop of a diocese, will then give a talk at a special service at the west side of the cathedral at 12pm.
The day is to commemorate the sacrifice of St Alban, who the town is named after.
The legend goes that Alban, who was converted to Christianity by a travelling priest, swapped cloaks with the priest in order to help him escape detection, but was then himself captured, tortured and executed by the Romans.
The day will end with a special evensong service at the cathedral at 4pm, Dean of Oxford Very Revd Martyn Percy delivering the sermon.
