A man in his 30’s was hit in the face with a metal object outside a fish and chip shop.

The assault happened in the High Street, Redbourn at around 8pm on Wednesday, June 21.

The victim was getting into his van when he was hit. He was knocked unconscious, suffering bruising and a suspected fracture to his eye socket.

The attacker is described as a mixed race boy with a slim build, between 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall, around 16 years-old with short, afro style hair.

Police from the Hertfordshire Constabulary are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

Investigating officer PC Ayodeji Afolabi : “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police to contact me via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101.

“Enquiries are on-going to identify the offender and I am keen to speak to anyone who believes they know who is responsible for this assault.”
