More than 7,000 people enjoyed Scottish dancing and haggis hurling at a summer party.
The Harpenden Lions held its annual Highland Gathering in Rothamsted Park, which included traditional Celtic entertainment.
The new haggis hurling event was popular and saw more than 30 people enter, hurling haggis that weighed between 3lb and 1lb.
Meanwhile, the new Scouts cannon race saw teams competing with each other to transport parts of cannon over an obstacle course.
The two main beneficiaries of the event, veterans mental health charity Combat Stress and local children’s charity Kids in Action took part, helping to raise awareness of their organisations and many other charities and volunteer groups were present, raising funds for themselves.
Harpenden Mayor Rosemary Farmer said the event "gets better each year".
Harpenden Lions President Mohan Cashyap said: “It would not be possible for the event such as this to be such a success without a huge amount of effort from all involved and Harpenden Lions Club recognises this and we are very appreciative.”
