St Albans' chief inspector is ordering potential party-goers to stay at home after two illegal raves in the city.
Chief Insp Shane O'Neill is sending out a warning to those who may consider coming to or organising another illegal rave in the city after two took place over the last couple of weekends.
Chief Insp O'Neill said: "Let me be clear, we will do everything in our power to put a stop to any unplanned raves and prosecute organisers and attendees who are breaking the law through anti-social behaviour, criminal damage or possession of drugs."
He said that often raves do no have adequate health and safety procedures and young people may be found drinking and taking drugs, as well as causing problems in the local community due to noise and traffic disruption.
He continued: "I hope this sends a strong message to anyone involved in planning future events that we will use all our powers to pre-empt them, prevent them from occurring or disrupt them anywhere in Hertfordshire."
