French visitors to St Albans were treated to all the delights the city can offer.
Visitors on a twinning trip from Nevers were given tours of the St Albans Cathedral, Roman hypocaust and Ampitheatre as well as the museum and art gallery in the old Town Hall.
The group was also taken to watch a cricket match where a team of district councillors took on the Friends of Victoria Playing Field, opened by the Mayors of Nevers and St Albans.
St Albans Mayor Cllr Mohammad Iqbal Zia said: "Twinning visits are important in building ties with countries overseas and have potential to benefit the visitor and local economies.
"Cricket is not played widely in France, but the Mayor of Nevers was so impressed with the game, that he’s now thinking of putting a team together!"
Nevers, a cathedral city in the Burgundy region of France, became the twin town with St Albans in 1974.
