Graffiti that was was sprayed onto medieval ruins has now been removed by the council.
Between Monday, October 23 and Friday, November 3, the paint was sprayed onto the Sopwell ruins in Cottonmill Lane, St Albans.
The ruins are the remains of a Tudor mansion built around 1560 and are also known as Sopwell Nunnery.
The mansion itself was built on top of a medieval nunnery dating back to 1140.
The graffiti has since been removed.
