Motorists are being warned to expect delays due to gas works.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place in Shenley Lane in London Colney from January 8 for nearly three months.
The roadworks are there in order for workers to replace ageing gas mains.
The works will be completed in four separate phases.
The first phase will take place in Shenley Lane close to Napsbury Park. There will be no access to the side road in Shenley Lane between Kings Road and Telford Road but drivers will still be able to access Telford Road.
The second phase will be at the junction of Telford Road. Further phases will be completed at the junctions of Walshingham Way and St Anne's Road.
The final three phases will be managed by three-way traffic lights.
Work is scheduled to be completed by March 18.
Essential gas repairs are currently being worked on in Napsbury Lane near the industrial estate, with temporary lights in place until January 12.
Gas repairs are also underway in Shenleybury, Shenley, until Januay 10.
