The Night Café will be performing next week after revealing their debut EP will be released in March.

Last year the group, who will be at The Horn in St Albans on January 31,  performances on the BBC Introducing Stage at T in the Park last summer and a support run with Reading darlings Sundara Karma, who the band will be joining again on an extensive UK tour this spring.

They will also be heading out on an extensive headline tour throughout April and May, which includes their biggest London headline show to date at Dingwalls in Camden, London.

Ahead of their EP the Feeling, they have released the single Strange Clothes. It is a track with impassioned and energetic vocals impact over driving riffs and a bracing beat. It follows recent singles You Change with the Seasons and Mixed Signals.

I spoke to Carl to find out more…

What is your role in the band?
My role is to make them heavy beats (I'm the drummer) and backing vocals.

Where are you all from?
We are all from Liverpool and we all live within 15 minutes from each other.

How old are you all?
We are very ripe and ready for the picking, and old enough to party. I am 21 and the others are 20.

What does everyone else in the band do?
Sean is lead vocals and guitar, Josh also playing guitar and backing vocals and Arran on the bass and providing backing vocals.

How did you all meet?
We all met through mutual friends in school.

Describe your sound
We don't think about a certain sound, we make whatever we can, and want to widen our styles.

Do you write your own stuff?
Yes we do, all we've ever wanted to do was make songs together, and it's sick that we are doing that.

What inspires you?
I think we've all grown up loving music and have never wanted to do anything else other than make songs. Seeing massive acts at festivals and their stage production is a big inspiration, we would love to have a massive production one day, just got to keep making the tunes.

What have been your highlights as a band so far?
Selling out shows that are 400 or more capacity venues outside of Liverpool is a big highlight for us. Seeing everyone liking what we're doing is just making us want more and more.

What are you looking forward to in 2018?
We are going on our first headline tour of the year in just over a week, and most of the venues have sold out so that is going to be great! Then we are writing our first album after that so a lot to look forward to.

The Night Café will perform at The Horn in St Albans on January 31.
