The Trestle gallery started their year with an exhibition of paintings by artist Helen Lack, also known as Handz.
Helen works in a large format with vibrant colours to produce individual and energetic artworks. She is inspired by Jackson Pollock who uses the ‘drip technique’ to convey abstract expressionism.
Helen is also a strong environmentalist who paints with a message, regarding issues such as population, pollution, ocean bleaching and chaos in the universe.
She has just curated her own solo exhibition at the Radlett Centre Hertfordshire entitled Natural Elements and the Universe. The Deputy Mayor of Hertsmere spoke of the “richness of colours” in her work and was reportedly impressed.
Her artworks have been exhibited at many galleries and locations in London including The Brick Lane Gallery, Espacio Gallery and Roy’s People Arts Fair, as well as in the Lift Gallery, USA.
Until Thursday, March 1.
Trestle Arts Base, Russet Drive, St Albans, AL4 0JQ. Details: 0727 850950, trestle.org.uk
