Hertfordshire police are looking for new officers.

The constabulary will be holding an event on Monday February 19 for potential applicants interested in becoming a police officer.

It will be taking place at Hertfordshire Police's headquarters in Stanborough Road, Welwyn Garden City from 7pm-9pm.

The evening will consist of an overview of the recruitment process as well the opportunity to speak to police officers who will be able to support and advise on how best to prepare for the application process ahead.

The police force are also recruiting special constabulary superintendents and chief inspectors to form part of its senior leadership team.

Successful applicants will play pivotal roles in the volunteer police workforce and will provide strategic and operational direction in the leadership of its 250 Special Constables.

The closing date for the Special Superintendent vacancy is February 19.

The closing date for the Special Chief Inspector vacancy is February 26.

Special constabulary chief officer Mark Kendrew, said: “We are seeking applications for both Superintendent and Chief Inspectors positions. Hertfordshire Constabulary is keen to attract fresh talent to the organisation, therefore candidates from outside the force with relevant, transferable skills and experience at this level are invited to apply, as well as serving Special Constables of all ranks.”
