The Conservative Party has retained control of St Albans District Council.
The party lost just one of its seats, to take its total down to 30 of 58.
The Liberal Democrats gained two seats, to take its total up to 19.
The Labour Party lost one seat.
There are two Independents and one Green councillor.
Lib Dem Mohammed Rahman gained Sopwell from Labour while the Lib Dems gained from the Conservatives in Marshalswick South.
Stella Nash was elected in Park Street as the Conservatives gained a seat at the expense of the Lib Dems.
The turn-out for the district council elections was 46.5 per cent.
In the St Albans North county council by-election, Roma Mills took the seat for Labour from the Lib Dems, following Charlotte Hogg's decision to step down.
In the London Colney parish council north west division by-election, Labour's Mohammad Mortuza won by just one vote.
