A motorcyclist who crashed into a barrier on the M1 yesterday has died.
The man is a 33-year-old from Watford.
The incident happened on the southbound exit slip road near j8 for Hemel Hempstead at 2.15pm.
The motorway was shut in both directions so an air ambulance could attend but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man's family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Sergeant Keith Evans from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit is appealing for anyone who saw the motorcyclist, who was travelling on a yellow Honda motorbike, shortly before the crash to get in touch by calling 101, quoting Op Laconia.
