A charity golfing event will take place to raise vital funds for people with life-limiting illnesses.

Keen golfers are being asked to join the annual Tomsie’s Charity Golf Day at Moor Park Golf Club on July 2 on behalf of Rennie Grove Hospice Care, in St Albans.

The sporting occasion is named after Steve Toms, the event organiser, and has become an annual affair in the charity’s fundraising calendar.

In addition to winning competition prizes, guests will enjoy a two-course lunch and the opportunity to play 18 holes in the grounds of a 17th Century mansion.

Paul Shearring from Abbots Langley will be taking part in the golf day to raise funds for Rennie Grove just 24 hours after completing the Cotswold Way 100K challenge.

St Albans & Harpenden Review:

Paul said: “In 2016, I decided to walk the Thames Path 100k Challenge and finished in under 24 hours, which I managed to do with the help of my team members.

“Two years later I am walking again to raise money for Rennie Grove Hospice Care, this time on the Cotswold Way 100k Challenge.

“I am so pleased that the funds I raise I will be making a difference to families going through such challenging times.”
